What a Troop!

Good evening,

Many thanks to the youth of T648 for another fabulous weekend with the Webelos.  Thanks to the senior boy leadership’s determined marketing efforts, we had representation from 7 Packs at our event this year, with a total of 15 guest youth attending.  First Aid, Search & Rescue and Fire Building/Starting activities had the young cubs enthralled, but the monkey bridge and the football game were what really got their juices flowing.  Rank advancement and toten chips were also squeezed in, and the day was topped off with a fantastic taco dinner courtesy of the Stults taco wagon, cobbler, and a roaring fire with unforgettable skits – how could it have been any better?…Bang, I win!!  A number of the Webelos Is and IIs expressed interest in continuing with scouting, which is really what it is all about.  A special thanks to the 16 T648 adult leaders and 25 scouts who spent time out at the event.

On to the next big thing.  A week from tomorrow is our winter Court of Honor.  Troop 648 invites all families to the event to honor our sons’ advancement to be held on Tuesday, January 18th from 6:00 to 8:30 PM.  The meeting will be held in the main church hall.  We ask all families with last names starting with A to L to bring cookies/brownies/treats to share, and all families with names from M to Z to bring pretzels/nuts/snacks. T648 will provide hot cocoa, apple cider, and water.  Those of you moms who have been pinned before – remember your bragging sash.  Those first timers, stay tuned, and it will soon all make sense.  Come next Tuesday to celebrate the terrific scouting accomplishments from the last 6 months of T648!
