Proud of all of you!! Frank, I forgot to tell you the good part about this story. While I was waiting for the boys to sell their tickets in front of Safeway – Gio followed a man over to his bike and handed him some money. I asked Gio what he was doing. Gio told me that he tried to sell the man some tickets and the man said he didn’t have a home or money. The man tried to tell Gio not to give him the money but Gio insisted. Sometimes we loose site of what is important when we have our eye on a goal – Gio did not. Valen also gave away some tickets to some people who did not have money. It was a good day. I’m very happy about this and thanks to all the dads helping them with their goals. I should have stepped up last night and said something about there dedication to selling tickets for the pancake breakfast – I did not do that. The boys worked very hard to sell tickets and receive donations. They brought their scout shirts to school most every day so they could be ready to sell where ever we were. They hit the streets, the stores, school, fire dept, they were on it and they did it as a team. I’m very proud of them ! In the end they sold 65 tickets together and collected many donations – $450.00. They also received two certificates for the YMCA for temporary memberships – about $250 ea. value. Their total contribution was about $950.00 – kudos for them. They are young scouts with a lot of heart. If you and some of the other leaders could say something to them, I would appreciate it. Your encouragement will help them keep their sites on the next goals. I’ve attached their collections and a poster they made for selling purposes. Due to time constraints I have missed the opportunity for my Scoutmaster’s minute the past several meetings.   I do not believe that I could possibly come up with a more fitting minute’  than Mr. Joerling.

This excerpt is from Mr. Joerling.

Hello Frank,

I should have stepped up last night and said something about there dedication to selling tickets for the pancake breakfast – I did not do that.   The boys worked very hard to sell tickets and receive donations. They brought their scout shirts to school most every day so they could be ready to sell where ever we were. Thank you for the privilege of being with Troop 648
